Why Recipe Lite?

I wanted a place on the net where I could store our favorite recipes and have that be shareable with others. There are a ton of recipe sharing sites, I'm sure I could have found one. But I'm a computer nerd and wanted to build my own. Recipe Lite was born out of this desire.

I've started building this system with all sorts of lofty goals in mind (and infinite complexity). That larger app is still in progress. Recipe Lite is a small step, I use the hand crafted artisnal recipe parser I wrote and a couple off the shelf open source components and about 45M tokens this is the result.

The recipes contained on this site are the ones we cook on a regular basis. Most of them are inspired by the many cookbooks and internet chefs we all know and love.
